We are seeking a Data Support Engineer (Level 3) to provide expert technical support and drive the performance and reliability of our data infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as the go-to expert for complex data issues, collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and IT teams to optimize data pipelines, and resolve integration and performance challenges. You will play a key role in ensuring data quality and supporting data-driven decision-making while leveraging your expertise in cloud and on-premises technologies.

Advanced Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve complex data integration and processing issues, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and ensure high availability of critical data services with minimal downtime.
Data Pipeline Management & Optimization: Oversee and optimize data pipelines (ETL/ELT) across on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring seamless data flow while proactively enhancing data throughput, scalability, and resource efficiency.
Platform & Tool Expertise: Provide expert support for data tools, platforms, and technologies, including relational/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), data warehousing, and ETL frameworks, while mentoring junior team members on best practices.
Automation & Monitoring: Implement and support automated monitoring systems to detect data anomalies, system failures, and performance issues and leverage advanced scripting and orchestration tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Apache Airflow) to automate workflows and reduce operational overhead.
Root Cause Analysis & Incident Management: Lead post-incident reviews, perform root cause analysis for data disruptions, and implement corrective actions, while creating detailed reports and documentation to drive continuous improvement.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create detailed technical documentation for data systems, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures, while developing knowledge-sharing resources to ensure best practices are consistently applied across the organization.
Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior data engineers and team members, offering guidance on complex technical issues, while fostering a collaborative, knowledge-driven environment that encourages professional growth and technical excellence.
🕵 We are looking for an individual who:
Has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience). A Master’s degree is a plus.
With a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a data support, data engineering, or data operations role, with significant exposure to large-scale data architectures and cloud-based solutions.
Has following technical skills:
o Expert-level proficiency in SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
o Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Scala, Java) for data integration, automation, and problem-solving.
o In-depth experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Microsoft services (e.g., Azure Storage, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview).
o Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT methodologies, including hands-on experience with relevant tools and technologies (eg; Databricks)
o Proven track record of diagnosing complex issues within data processing workflows and optimizing data delivery and performance at scale.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
o Strong analytical abilities, with experience in identifying and solving highly complex data issues quickly and efficiently.
o Ability to assess business needs and translate them into technical solutions to enhance data workflows and analytics.
Communication & Leadership:
o Customer-oriented, ensuring data solutions align with business needs.
o Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
o Experience leading cross-functional teams and providing mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
