Purchasing Supervisor (Taylor, MI)

TCR North America is growing fast, and we're looking for a skilled and motivated Purchasing Supervisor to join our Detroit team. This key role involves managing supplier relationships, leading procurement activities, and optimizing a multi-million-dollar spare parts budget.
We are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills, expertise in the automotive or Ground Support Equipment (GSE) sectors, and a dedication to customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and implementing our parts strategy, ensuring a steady supply of high-quality parts that fulfill both customer and operational requirements.

Strategic Planning & Inventory: Develop and implement strategies to optimize spare parts inventory. Analyze market trends, and manage procurement, storage, and distribution to maintain optimal stock levels.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of spare parts specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing and high quality.
Customer Service: Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of orders. Serve as the main escalation point for queries, ensuring prompt resolution.
Financial Management: Oversee budgets, manage costs, and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth. Take charge of a multi-million-dollar budget for parts.
Process Improvement: Implement best practices in inventory and logistics. Drive process improvement projects and leverage technology for efficiency gains.
Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Uphold quality control measures and product integrity.
Health & Safety: Act responsibly to prevent injuries, adhere to safety regulations, use safety equipment appropriately, report incidents, and promote health and safety initiatives.
🕵 We are looking for an individual who:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in spare parts management or related roles, preferably within the automotive or GSE industries.
Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities. Proficient in inventory management software (SAP preferred).
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
Personal Attributes: A confident communicator at all levels, a team player with a proactive mindset, adaptable, and willing to travel as needed.
